Delhi Capitals seamer Kyle Jamieson received a warning and one demerit point for breaching the IPL code of conduct during the win over Rajasthan Royals on Friday.
The incident came in the second over of Rajasthan’s innings. Jamieson conceded a boundary before he bowled Vaibhav Suryavanshi with a fast yorker. He then celebrated with loud shouts and moved towards the batter as he walked off.
Umpires reported the behaviour and charged Jamieson under Article 2.5 of the IPL code, which covers actions that show excessive aggression. Match referee Rajeev Seth classified the offence as Level 1 and added a demerit point to the bowler’s record along with a formal warning.
Suryavanshi scored four runs from two balls before his dismissal. The reaction from Jamieson drew attention from viewers during the broadcast.
Delhi still secured the result in a high-scoring match. Rajasthan posted 225 for six after batting first. Delhi chased the target in 19.1 overs with contributions from KL Rahul and Pathum Nissanka.
Rahul made 75 from 40 balls, while Nissanka scored 62 from 33. Their opening stand set the pace and allowed Delhi to control the chase without late pressure.
The sanction leaves Jamieson available for selection, with no suspension attached to the offence.
