Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has announced a peaceful countrywide protest on Thursday to condemn the attack on the National Citizen Party (NCP) rally in Gopalganj.
Jamaat’s Secretary General Miah Golam Parwar announced the protest programme through a statement.
“The terrorists of the banned Chhatra League, an accomplice of the fallen fascist, attacked vehicles carrying NCP leaders with intent to kill,” he said.
Parwar called for legal action against the perpetrators and urged people to remain united against fascism.
He also urged Jamaat’s members and the general public to participate in the announced protest programme to be held in all districts and metropolitan cities.
