ICC updated its T20 rankings this week, and Bangladesh quietly emerged with a small win despite missing the World Cup. The Tigers stayed out of the global tournament and focused on domestic cricket at home.
Parvez Hossain Emon enjoyed the biggest rise. He climbed two places to joint 41st with a career-best 542 rating points. Other batters slipping across the world opened the door for his jump.
Saif Hasan also moved forward. The top-order batter rose two places to joint 42nd. He did it without facing a single international ball this month.
Jaker Ali matched that progress. The wicketkeeper-batter climbed two spots to joint 72nd.
Not everyone smiled. Tanzid Hasan Tamim slipped one place to 21st, while Liton Kumar Das dropped to 54th. The absence from top-level competition cut both ways.
The bowlers felt it harder. Mahedi Hasan slid four places to 21st, while Rishad Hossain fell seven spots to 27th. Nasum Ahmed and Tanzim Hasan Sakib also lost ground.
Further down, Shoriful Islam dropped to 63rd, Taskin Ahmed slipped to 64th, and Hasan Mahmud fell to 91st. The rankings told a simple story: staying still sometimes helps batters, but bowlers usually pay the price.
