Football World Cup fever will take centre stage in a special compilation episode of Ityadi, which will air on Bangladesh Television (BTV) after the 8:00 pm Bangla news on Friday (3 July).
The programme features selected segments from a special Ityadi episode filmed in 2016 at the Horticulture Centre in Chapainawabganj, along with highlights from previous episodes focusing on the FIFA World Cup.
Besides football, the compilation includes reports on Chapainawabganj and its famous mangoes, a feature on Fazle Rabbi Robin’s fascination with snakes, and the story of Halim of Magura, who earned three Guinness World Records related to football. Ityadi first introduced Halim to viewers in 1995.
The programme also features a report on Kutubuddin Ahmed of Phultala upazila in Khulna for his dedication to education and service to underprivileged people. An overseas segment showcases Athens, the capital of Greece, and the country’s Evzones ceremonial guards.
The episode includes a song on Chapainawabganj written by Mohammad Rafiquzzaman with music by Hanif Sanket, performed with the participation of nearly 100 local dancers. It also features a musical drama highlighting irregularities in different public offices, starring Pran Roy and Joyraj.
As part of the audience segment, Gambhira artistes Mahabubul Alam and Faizur Rahman Mani perform songs on Chapainawabganj and Bengali folk music, followed by a quiz based on their performance.
The compilation also includes satirical drama sketches on social issues, alongside the regular Nani-Nati, Mama-Bhagne and Letters segments.
Ityadi is written, directed and presented by Hanif Sanket. The special compilation episode is sponsored by Keya Cosmetics and will be broadcast on Bangladesh Television.
