Bangladeshi actress Adhora Khan is set to make her international film debut with Zayed Khan in the movie Violence, a Canada-based production exploring love, conflict and politics.
The actress will play one of the central characters in the film. The story follows a university student who was born and raised in Canada, with Adhora portraying the character.
Violence will be directed by Kamal Hossain Babor and produced by Sabrina Chowdhury. Shooting is scheduled to begin soon in Canada, where the entire film will be shot.
Adhora said she is excited about taking on her first international film project.
She noted that working on international projects is not entirely new to her, as she has previously been involved in several projects in the United States and Canada.
Some have already been released, while announcements regarding others are yet to be made.
“I am getting every project based on my talent and ability, just as I did in Bangladesh,” Adhora said.
She added that she never maintained continuous contact with anyone in the hope of securing work.
Instead, she believed that opportunities would come naturally if she was considered suitable for a project.
According to Adhora, she was selected for Violence after the director learned about her through someone involved in another Canadian project she is currently working on.
She decided to join the film after being impressed by the story and her character.
As the film will be made in Bangla and is expected to be released in Bangladesh, Canada, the United States and other countries, Adhora said she was particularly interested in being part of it.
“I hope Violence will become one of the most significant films of my life,” she said.
Adhora began her film career with Nayok in 2018 and later earned praise for Matal, Pagoler Moto Bhalobashi and Sultanpur.
Her upcoming films Dokkhin Duwar and Ritukamini are awaiting release.
She also revealed that she is set to join several more international projects soon, while discussions are underway for several films in Bangladesh.
