Inqilab Moncho has once again taken up position at the capital’s Shahbagh intersection, demanding justice for Sharif Osman Hadi murder.

The platform announced a fresh sit-in around 12:30pm on Saturday.

Earlier in the day, around 10am, activists of Inqilab Moncho temporarily left Shahbagh to allow BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman to pay tribute at Hadi’s grave. They relocated their sit-in to the front of Aziz Super Market.

Abdullah Al Jaber, member secretary of the Inqilab Moncho, said demonstrators had staged a night-long sit-in at Shahbagh on Friday. They allege that the perpetrators have yet to be apprehended and brought to trial.

Despite the cold winter night, the activists remained resolute, warning that if the government fails to ensure justice, their indefinite sit-in at Shahbagh would continue.

On 12 December, Hadi was shot by the assailants on Box Culvert Road in the capital’s Bijoynagar area. He died in Singapore on 18 December while undergoing treatment.
