Detective Branch (DB) of Chuadanga police arrested an Indian national for unauthorized border crossing and possession of illegal hard liquor.
The action took place at 5:00pm of August 30, was part of ongoing efforts to combat the smuggling and distribution of illicit substances. A specialized DB team intercepted an individual carrying four bottles of imported alcohol.
The suspect was identified as Mohammed Mahabul Mondal, 38, son of late Mozahar Mondal of Chakramprosad village in the Murshidabad district of India’s West Bengal.
Law enforcement officials confirmed his identity and verified his foreign national status.
Authorities have initiated dual legal proceedings against Mondal, citing violations of the Narcotics Control Act as well as charges related to unauthorized border crossing.
The cases are being processed at the Chuadanga Sadar Police Station.
