Two of Bangladesh’s popular playback singers, Nazmun Munira Nancy and Imran Mahmudul, have reunited for a new duet titled ‘Dujon Mile Bachbo Ek Jibon’, which will feature in the upcoming Bangladeshi thriller film ‘Shikar’.
Penned by lyricist Kabir Bakul, the song has been composed and musically arranged by Imran himself. Recording for the track was completed on Sunday evening.
The filmmakers believe the melody-driven number will revive the much-loved musical chemistry between Imran and Nancy, a duo known for delivering several popular songs over the years.
Expressing her excitement after the recording session, Nancy said working with Imran has always been a rewarding experience. She praised both the lyrics and composition, adding that it had been a long time since she had sung a film song that resonated with her so deeply. She expressed hope that the track would touch listeners’ hearts.
Imran also shared his enthusiasm, describing Nancy as one of the country’s most distinctive vocalists. He said performing a duet with her is always a special experience and revealed that they had been waiting for the opportunity to collaborate on the song for quite some time. He expressed confidence that audiences would embrace the new release.
The song will be featured in ‘Shikar’, the latest film by director Kamruzzaman Roman, who is finally set to begin production after previously announcing the project with actors Apu Biswas and Mortaza Polash in the lead roles.
According to the director, Shikar is a thriller inspired by a true incident that took place in Bangladesh’s border region. He said the story itself is the film’s central protagonist, with Apu Biswas and Mortoza Palash cast to serve the narrative. Roman added that audiences will see Apu in a completely different role from her previous screen appearances.
Filming is scheduled to begin in Nepal this week, with the production team planning to complete the shoot in a single continuous schedule across several scenic locations.
Based on a story by Abdullah Zahir Babu, ‘Shikar’ will be shot by cinematographer Saiful Shahin and produced under the banner of Reza Films Production. The cast also includes Boroda Mithu, Rashed Mamun Apu and several other performers in key roles.
