As the country prepares for the upcoming national election, the government has reshuffled Deputy Commissioners (DCs) in 15 districts, appointing new officials in nine and transferring six others.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification on Saturday night announcing the changes.
According to the notification, the nine newly appointed DCs are officials holding the rank of Deputy Secretary.
The districts include Noakhali, Habiganj, Gazipur, Dhaka, Gaibandha, Barguna, Bogura, Sirajganj, Magura, Pirojpur, Satkhira, Bagerhat, Khulna, Kushtia, and Bhola.
Among the Deputy Commissioners, Mohammad Shafiul Alam from Barguna is being transferred to Dhaka; Ahmed Kamrul Hasan from Bagerhat to Noakhali; Abu Hasnat Mohammad Arefin from Kushtia to Habiganj; Md Azad Jahan from Bhola to Gazipur; Muhammad Nazrul Islam from Sirajganj to Gaibandha; and Md Toufiqur Rahman from Khulna to Bogura.
Additionally, Md Abdullah Al Mahmud, Private Secretary to the Commerce Adviser, is being appointed as deputy commissioner in Magura; SM Jamshed Khondaker, Private Secretary to the Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser (Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology), in Khulna; Sandwip Kumar Singh, Chief Executive Officer of Sylhet District Council, in Barguna; Abu Sayeed, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, in Pirojpur; Md Aminul Islam, Secretary (Deputy Secretary) of Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC), in Sirajganj; Afroza Akhter, Pabna Zonal Settlement Officer of the Directorate of Land Records and Survey, in Satkhira; Golam Md. Baten, Deputy Director (Deputy Secretary) of Local Government in Feni, in Bagerhat; Md Iqbal Hossain, Director of Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK), in Kushtia; and Shamim Rahman, Deputy Secretary of the Cabinet Division, has been assigned as Deputy Commissioner of Bhola.
