The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has announced another reduction in gold prices within 24 hours.
This time, the price of 22‑carat gold has been cut by Tk2,158 per bhori (11.664 grams), setting the new rate at Tk240,336.
BAJUS disclosed the adjustment in a notice on Thursday morning, saying the new prices will take effect from 10am. The price of pure gold in the local market had fallen, prompting the revision, it said.
Under the new rates, 21‑carat gold will cost Tk229,430 per bhori, 18‑carat gold Tk196,655, and traditional gold Tk160,146.
Just a day earlier, on Wednesday, BAJUS had lowered prices by Tk2,216 per bhori, fixing 22‑carat gold at Tk242,495, 21‑carat at Tk231,472, 18‑carat at Tk198,405, and traditional gold at Tk161,605.
So far this year, BAJUS has adjusted gold prices 59 times, raising them 32 times and cutting them 27 times. In 2025, the association revised prices 93 times, with 64 increases and 29 reductions.
