Gold prices in Bangladesh have dropped, with 22-carat gold falling by Tk3,324 per bhori (11.664 grams) to settle at Tk2,67,106.
Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announced the new price through a press release on Thursday.
The price of 21-carat gold now stands at Tk2,54,975 per bhori, 18-carat at Tk2,18,583, and traditional method gold at Tk1,78,401.
BAJUS said the adjustment was made in line with overall market conditions following a rise in the local price of tejabi gold, or pure gold.
The notice further said 5 percent VAT and minimum wage of 6 percent must be added to the selling price of gold. However, the wage may vary depending on the design and quality of the jewellery.
Meanwhile, silver prices have also fallen by Tk350 per bhori. 22-carat silver is now selling at Tk6,357 per bhori, 21-carat at Tk6,065, 18-carat at Tk5,190, and traditional silver at Tk3,907.
