The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed a ban on all forms of public gatherings, rallies, and processions in and around the Bangladesh Secretariat and the chief adviser’s official residence, Jamuna, effective Tuesday.

The directive was announced through a public notification signed by DMP Commissioner Sheikh Mohammad Sajjat Ali on Monday.

According to the notice, the restriction will remain in force until further orders, beginning Tuesday.

Citing the need to maintain public order and ensure the security of the chief adviser, the DMP said the ban has been issued under Section 29 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance (Ordinance No. III of 1976).

The restricted zones include Bangladesh Secretariat, Jamuna, and adjacent areas — covering Hotel Intercontinental intersection, Kakrail Mosque junction, Officers’ Club intersection, and Mintu Road.
