The 9th Federation Cup Golf Championship 2025, organised by the Bangladesh Golf Federation, ended on 17 September at in historic fashion as the tournament produced its first-ever tie in nine years. Held alongside the 1st Invitational Club Professional Golf Tournament at the Kurmitola Golf Club, the four-day event showcased remarkable competition, spirit, and resilience.
A total of 317 golfers, including 130 amateurs and 187 professionals, participated from across Bangladesh, making it one of the most inclusive editions to date. Divisions were contested in Youth, Women, and Men’s categories, with each delivering moments of drama and brilliance that kept fans engaged until the very end.
What made this year’s championship particularly memorable was the unprecedented result for the first time in the tournament’s nine-year history, the men’s division concluded in a tie. The tension, the competitive edge, and the unwavering performances set the stage for an unforgettable finale.
Despite the challenging weather conditions, the Bangladesh Golf Federation ensured the smooth completion of the event. The organisers managed to deliver a top-class experience, reflecting the growing stature of the sport in the country.
The winners were awarded by distinguished guests, including Maj Gen Md Shaheenul Haque (Retd.), Senior Vice President of Bangladesh Golf Federation, Maj Gen AKM Abdullahil Baquee (Retd.) Senior Vice President of Bangladesh Golf Federation, and Maj Gen Masud Razzaq (Retd.) President of Bangladesh Professional Golf Association. Their presence highlighted the importance of the tournament in promoting golf nationwide.
Beyond the competitive edge, the championship symbolised unity and growth for Bangladeshi golf. From emerging youth golfers to experienced professionals and women competitors, the event underlined the federation’s commitment to nurturing talent across all categories.
