A man and his daughter were killed, and four others injured, in a collision between a bus and a private car in Osmani Nagar upazila of Sylhet on Saturday morning.
The deceased were identified as Harun Mia and his 10-year-old daughter, Anisha Begum, both residents of Khadimpur village in Osmani Nagar, reports UNB.
Monayem Mia, officer-in-charge of Osmaninagar Police Station, the accident occurred around 9:30 am when a Sylhet-bound private car collided with a bus heading towards Habiganj, killing Harun on the spot.
Anisha succumbed to her injuries while receiving treatment at a hospital, the OC said.
Police rescued the injured and took them to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital. The two vehicles involved in the collision have been seized, the officer added.
