Actress Farin Khan has alleged she was the target of an attempted assault at a petrol pump washroom during an overnight journey from Dhaka to Jamalpur for a drama shoot on May 13, with the incident taking place in the early hours in Tangail, Bangladesh, and later shared publicly in a Facebook post on May 23, 2026.
According to her account, she and her team were travelling when they stopped at a petrol pump, where she went to the washroom at around 3:15 am. She wrote that shortly after entering, she sensed someone behind her and then noticed what she described as two hands reaching towards her neck through a ventilator.
Farin stated that she believes a major incident was narrowly avoided due to her shouting for help in time. In her words, she said that had she not screamed, she could have been killed and robbed before an attempted assault.
She added that the sound of her shouting brought her driver to the scene, after which the suspected individual fled. The driver reportedly told her he had earlier noticed someone near the back of the washroom but did not initially consider it significant.
The actress said she was left mentally shaken following the incident, explaining that although she maintained composure outwardly, she experienced fear and emotional distress internally.
She also raised concerns about women’s safety in the country, stating that women regularly face unsafe environments, and expressed concern that she might be blamed for the incident due to her clothing or profession.
Farin Khan made her film debut in 2017 with ‘Dhat Teri Ki’ and currently works regularly in television dramas and digital content.
