Early results from Sherpur’s two constituencies indicate a close race, with voting figures reported from a portion of the total polling centres.
In Sherpur-1 (Sadar), results from 32 out of 145 centres show BNP nominee Sansila Zebrin Priyanka leading with 15,183 votes.
Jamaat’s Hafiz Rashedul Islam has secured 29,627 votes, while independent candidate Shafiqul Islam Masud, known as “Motorcycle,” received 13,472 votes.
In Sherpur-2 (Nakla-Nalitabari), 51 out of 154 centres have reported their results so far.
BNP candidate Fahim Chowdhury has obtained 38,845 votes, while Jamaat’s Md Golam Kibria is ahead with 40,017 votes.
Voting continues across remaining centres as parties await final tallies.
