Dhaka Stock Exchange PLC (DSE) has awarded Financial Information Exchange (FIX) certification to nine brokerage houses, enabling them to run their own software for API-based order management connected to the Nasdaq matching engine, DSE said in a press statement on Thursday.
The exchange said forty-seven brokerage houses have now received FIX certification in total, of which thirty-five have already launched API-integrated systems.
According to the statement, seventy-two brokerage houses have applied so far for API connectivity under the broker-hosted order management system introduced in 2020.
Certificates for the latest group were handed over at the DSE boardroom by DSE Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Acting Managing Director (MD) Mohammad Asadur Rahman in the presence of DSE Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Asifur Rahman and senior officials.
The DSE COO and acting MD said the move is part of the capital market’s ongoing digital transformation and that the exchange has been engaging with sectors such as garments, ceramics, agro and chemicals to strengthen stakeholder participation.
He said new digital services are planned for launch by December 2025, including a modern website landing page, an online document submission system for Trading Right Entitlement Certificate holders and improved compliance and data processes.
The DSE CTO said stock exchange technology operates under different risk parameters compared to banking and that continuous vigilance and strict standards compliance are essential for market stability.
FIX certificates were received on behalf of the brokerage houses by Bangladesh Finance Securities Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Khandaker Mahmudul Hasan, Fintra Securities MD Ajit Kumar Bonik, IDLC Securities MD AHM Nazmul Hasan, IIDFC Securities CEO Md Nazmul Hasan Chowdhury, LankaBangla Securities CEO Khandaker Safat Reza, MTB Securities CEO Md Nazrul Islam Mozumder, SAR Securities Director Sharif Tasruba Rahman, South Asia Securities CEO Md Alauddin Patowary and Waifang Securities CEO Md Masuduzzaman.
DSE said LankaBangla Securities also received re-certification in this phase.
