A Dhaka court has issued an order prohibiting Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) administrator Mohammad Azaz from leaving the country.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Fayez passed the order on Sunday following a petition filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), said court bench assistant Md Riaz Hossain.
On behalf of the ACC, Assistant Director Md Ashiqur Rahman submitted the petition seeking a travel ban on Azaz.
According to the ACC, allegations of irregularities, corruption, and bribery against Azaz are under investigation. The allegations include irregularities in leasing the Gabtoli cattle market under DNCC, the e-rickshaw project, allocation of shops in Banani kitchen market, construction and allocation of shops in the parking area of Khilgaon Taltola Super Market, and allocation of shops on footpaths.
