Dhaka Metropolitan Police has lodged 1,422 cases across the capital for traffic rule violations.
The information was disclosed in a press release signed by DMP Deputy Commissioner Media and Public Relations Division Muhammad Talebur Rahman.
The statement said the cases and fines were recorded during routine drives conducted by the DMP Traffic Division on 22 October against vehicles and individuals violating traffic laws.
As part of the operation, law enforcers seized 239 vehicles and towed away another 85 from different parts of the city.
The DMP said such drives will continue to ensure discipline and smooth vehicular movement on Dhaka’s busy roads.
