Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Mosleh Uddin Ahmed has directed all police personnel to properly execute their assigned duties to prevent crime and maintain law and order across the capital.
He issued these instructions while addressing senior officers at the monthly crime review meeting for August 2026, held at the DMP Headquarters conference room at 10:30am on Monday.
The DMP commissioner emphasised that Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC), Detective Branch (DB), and police station (Thana) personnel must work in close coordination. He ordered area-wise duty distribution to ensure no security vacuum arises in any locality.
Additionally, he directed officers to systematically collect and preserve guest records from residential and other hotels for swift retrieval whenever required. Security arrangements, including block checks, must be reinforced at entry points and vital locations of Dhaka to prevent criminals from remote regions entering the capital.
The commissioner instructed officers to take legal action regarding suspicious individuals, control their movement before offences occur, and focus on the immediate collection, analysis, and application of intelligence data.
During the session, he presented awards to DMP officers of various ranks in recognition of outstanding performance in crime control and public safety during August.
The meeting was attended by senior DMP leadership, including Additional Police Commissioners Md Masud Karim (Logistics, Finance and Procurement, holding additional charge of Admin), Md Shafiqul Islam (DB), Md Abul Bashar Talukdar (Protection and Diplomatic Security), Mohammad Osman Goni (Estate, Development and ICT, holding additional charge of Crime and Operations), and Mohammad Shamsul Haq (CTTC), alongside Joint Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, and Officers-in-Charge of all DMP police stations.
