Daffodil International University (DIU) has ranked No 1 among private universities in Bangladesh and 4th among all public and private universities in the country in the University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP) World Ranking 2025–2026, while also placing 1,461st globally, according to a press release said.
The ranking, which evaluates academic institutions based on research output and performance, places DIU among the leading higher education institutions in Bangladesh due to its strengthened research profile, publication record and international collaboration efforts during the 2025–2026 assessment period.
The URAP World Ranking 2025–2026 is one of the global research-based university ranking systems and assesses universities on six key indicators: number of articles, citation impact, total scientific documents, article impact total, citation impact total and international collaboration. These indicators measure both the volume and quality of research, as well as global academic influence and partnership networks. Harvard University ranked top globally in the same assessment.
DIU’s performance, according to the statement, reflects its sustained focus on building a research-driven academic environment, increasing scholarly output, expanding global partnerships and strengthening innovation capacity within higher education. The university said the achievement underscores continued progress in research quality and international academic engagement.
The university authorities expressed appreciation to faculty members, researchers, officers, staff, students, alumni and both national and international partners for their contributions. Their collective efforts in research, academic development and institutional growth were cited as key factors behind the latest international recognition.
