Md Sabur Khan, Founder and Chairman of Daffodil International University (DIU), participated as a distinguished speaker at the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) Semi-Annual Conference 2026, held in Vilnius, Lithuania, from 29 April to 1 May.

During the conference, Sabur met Regina Valutytė, vice minister of Education, Science and Sport of Lithuania, reads a press release.

She previously visited DIU in 2019 while serving as Vice Rector of Mykolas Romeris University. Their continued engagement reflects a strong and growing academic relationship.

At the event, Sabur delivered a keynote presentation titled “Leading with Integrity: Ethical and Inclusive Leadership in a Global Context.”

Addressing the event, he highlighted the importance of ethical governance, inclusive leadership, innovation, and future-ready education in an evolving global higher education landscape.
He also presented the DIU model, focusing on sustainable infrastructure, entrepreneurship development, student-centred policies, and international academic collaboration.

As Treasurer-Elect of IAUP, Sabur reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening global academic partnerships and positioning Bangladesh as an important hub for international higher education dialogue.

Speaking at the conference, he said, “Global collaboration in higher education is essential for building resilient institutions and preparing future generations for the challenges of tomorrow. Daffodil International University remains committed to contributing to this global transformation.”

The IAUP 2026 conference, hosted by Mykolas Romeris University, was held under the theme “Resilient Minds, Innovative Pathways: Universities Leading Global Transformation,” bringing together academic leaders from around the world to discuss ethics, innovation, sustainability, and the future of higher education.

A major highlight of the event was the announcement that DIU will host the IAUP Semi-Annual Conference from 19 to 21 November, 2026. This will mark the first time in IAUP’s history that the conference will be held in South Asia.

This milestone positions Bangladesh as an emerging centre for international academic collaboration and further strengthens DIU’s global presence in higher education.
