The minister said Denmark could play a significant role in key sectors such as water supply and waste management, particularly in investment opportunities for waste‑to‑energy projects.

Discussions also covered Denmark’s financing and cooperation in the third phase of the Saidabad Water Treatment Plant project. Denmark will provide Tk4,000 crore in funding, including Tk1,500 crore as grants and Tk3,000 crore as loans.

While briefing reporters after the meeting, State Minister Shahe Alam said Denmark’s support for the third phase of the Saidabad project is a major achievement for the government. Once implemented, the project will help meet Dhaka’s rising demand for safe water.
