Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit has arrested two absconding suspects in connection with a mugging incident involving a student in the capital’s Mohammadpur area.
The arrested are Md Tousif Ahmed, 25, and Tanzil Hasan, 24.
According to CTTC sources, they were arrested at around 8:15am on Sunday (19 April) from in front of Greenwood Mohammadia Housing after reviewing CCTV footage and using information technology.
CTTC sources said the incident took place on 25 March at around 9:40pm in front of Greenwood School on Mohammadia Housing Road under Mohammadpur Police Station.
The muggers intercepted a student named Zahirul on the pavement and assaulted him. They later threatened him with a knife and took Tk3,000 from him.
Legal proceedings against the arrested are underway.
