iScreen’s latest release, ‘Chokro 2’, has quickly captured viewer attention, offering a gripping and more intense psychological thriller than its first season.
The eight-episode series, directed by Vicky Zahed, premiered on March 26 as part of iScreen’s Eid programming, and delves into a chilling real-life event from 17 years ago, when nine family members in Mymensingh were reportedly driven to suicide.
Within two days of release, the series logged over one million minutes of viewership, signalling strong engagement from audiences. Channel i hosted a press event on March 29, where cast and crew reflected on the series’ reception and shared insights into its production.
Tousif Mahbub, one of the lead actors, admitted feeling nervous before the release but described the response as highly encouraging. Director Vicky Zahed highlighted the challenge and excitement of weaving together a complex narrative with 18 key characters, emphasising the team’s commitment to expanding the story from season one.
The ensemble cast includes Azmeri Haque Badhan, Shahed Ali, Nader Chowdhury, AK Azad Setu, Ihtisham Ahmed, Meghla Mukta, Gazi Rakayet, Shahed Ali Sujan and Moushumi Mou.
Chokro 2 can be streamed on the iScreen app through a subscription or via a one-time payment of Tk25.
