On the occasion of the nation’s Independence and National Day, Chief Justice Justice Zubayer Rahman Chowdhury, along with the esteemed judges of both the Appellate and High Court divisions of the Bangladesh Supreme Court, laid floral wreaths at the National Memorial in Savar on Thursday morning.

The ceremony began at 6:12am, honouring the brave martyrs of the Liberation War of 1971.

Following the tradition set by the President and Prime Minister, the Chief Justice and the Supreme Court judges jointly placed the wreaths, demonstrating a united gesture of respect and remembrance.

After the floral tribute, the Chief Justice and the judges observed a moment of silence, paying solemn homage to the valour and sacrifice of the 1971 freedom fighters.

The ceremony highlighted the judiciary’s role in commemorating Bangladesh’s historic struggle for independence, reaffirming the nation’s collective memory of its martyrs.
