The Chattogram Divisional Women’s T20 Cricket League 2026 will begin on Saturday at the Continental Sports Complex Ground in Hathazari, Chattogram. The tournament will run from March 7 to March 12. It will feature many young and talented women cricketers from across the Chattogram Division.
Bangladesh Cricket Board director Ahsan Iqbal Chowdhury started this tournament. He is also the managing director of Continental Group. The goal of the league is to give women cricketers in the region a chance to play competitive cricket and grow in the sport.
Players from 11 districts of the Chattogram Division will take part in the event. The cricketers have been drafted into four teams. The teams are Pirates of Chittagong, Rising Star Junior, CSCL Club and Team ISCL.
The organisers believe the tournament will help find new talent in the region. They also hope the league will help players prepare for bigger events in the future.
The final match of the tournament will take place on March 12 at the same venue.
Players have been placed in three categories for payment. Category A has 12 players who will earn BDT 7,000 for each match. Category B includes 15 players who will receive BDT 5,000 per match. Category C has 29 players who will earn BDT 4,000 per match.
Continental Group will cover all expenses of the tournament.
The organisers have also arranged hotel stays for the teams in two residential hotels. Air conditioned buses will carry the players between the hotels and the ground during the tournament.
The organisers feel this league will be important before the Women’s BPL, which is set to take place in April. They believe the tournament can help identify players who may get a chance to play in the upcoming franchise competition.
