Cardi B is facing a lawsuit for alleged assault and battery after a woman claimed the rapper hit her with a microphone during a performance at Drai’s Beachclub in Las Vegas two years ago.
The woman, identified only as Jane Doe, filed the suit claiming Cardi encouraged the audience to throw water on her to help cool down. When Doe followed through, Cardi allegedly threw her microphone directly at her.
The mic used in the incident was later auctioned off for nearly $100,000 — something Doe claims to have worsened her emotional distress.
Although the 32-year-old artist was not criminally charged at the time, the lawsuit has now brought the incident back into the spotlight.
Footage from the event shows Cardi inviting the crowd to “splash” water on her. However, after water was thrown at her face, Cardi reportedly reacted by hurling the mic at Doe. Security escorted Doe out of the venue afterward.
Known for her outspoken nature, Cardi has previously lashed out at fans online, including defending herself against comparisons to Nicki Minaj and rumors about her relationship with Offset, whom she officially divorced in August 2024.
