A 37-year-old man died after falling from a building while attempting a burglary in the capital’s Kadamtali area early Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Selim who lived with his family in Uttar Muradpur, Kadamtali, while his ancestral home was in Kadamtali village under Titas Police Station in Comilla.
Kadamtali Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Kabir Hossain said Selim was a known thief, mugger, and of a vagabond nature.
According to the police officer, Selim was scaling the cornice of Sattar Miah’s house in Uttar Muradpur on Saturday when he slipped, fell to the ground, and died on the spot.
Kadamtali police recovered the body from the road in front of Jinna Miah’s house in Uttar Muradpur. The body has been sent to Dhaka Medical College morgue for an autopsy.
