The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has handed over 10 Bangladeshi nationals, including 5 children, through the Taluigacha border in Satkhira.
The handover took place on Wednesday evening at the zero point of the border in Sadar upazila. It was conducted during a flag meeting between Inspector Bikash Kumar, Company Commander of BSF’s Amudia unit, and Abul Kashem, Commander of BGB’s Taluigacha camp.
The detainees include: Papia Begum (46), Neamat Ali (51), Habib Molla (09), Labiba Molla (04), Sheela Akter Sorbanu (24), Abdul Mosha (36), Afroza Molla (35), Rukaiya Khatun (05), Anabiya (01) and Moslema Khatun (21).
According to BGB, the group had been detained on Tuesday while attempting to cross the Hakimpur checkpoint in India. Later that night, BGB handed them over to Satkhira Sadar Police Station by filing a general diary.
Satkhira Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shaminul Haque confirmed the matter, saying the Bangladeshi nationals will be released to their families after identity verification on Thursday.
