The interim government will take steps to build a bridge at Company Ghat in Kamrangirchar to improve local transport connectivity, Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan said on Thursday.
He announced the initiative while speaking as the chief guest at the National Education Seminar and Award Distribution ceremony organised to mark the sixth anniversary of Markazut Taqwa Madrasa in Kamrangirchar, Dhaka.
The Adviser said Kamrangirchar has long suffered from narrow roads and a shortage of open spaces. He said plans are being made to widen the roads in the area and to develop a playground in Ward 55 to support sports and recreational activities.
The programme was presided over by Maulana Habibullah Miaji, Director General of Jamia Nuria Islamia Madrasa.
Following the event, Adviser Asif visited Jamia Nuria Islamia Madrasa in Kamrangirchar and paid respects at the grave of prominent subcontinental Islamic scholar Maulana Muhammad Ullah Hafezi Huzur.
