Light rain has been falling intermittently in the capital Dhaka since early Friday morning and the weather condition continues.
Several areas of the capital, including Mirpur, Farmgate, Shahbagh, Aftabnagar, Rampura, Banasree, Shahjadpur, Badda and Jatrabari, witnessed light rainfall in the morning. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department said Dhaka received a small amount of rainfall in the past 24 hours.
According to the weather forecast, light rain or thundershowers may occur in Dhaka and nearby areas during the next six hours from 7am on Friday. The sky may remain partly cloudy during the period, while daytime temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged.
The forecast also said winds may blow from the south or southwest at a speed of 8 to 12 kilometres per hour during this period.
The temperature in Dhaka was recorded at 28.8°C at 6am on Friday, with relative humidity at 90 per cent.
According to the Meteorological Department, the highest temperature recorded in Dhaka on Thursday was 35°C, while the minimum temperature on Friday was recorded at 28.7°C.
Meanwhile, the sun is expected to set in Dhaka at 6:21pm on Friday, and sunrise will occur at 5:39am on Saturday.
