A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed Thursday between the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and the Communist Party of China (CPC), marking the first formal agreement between the two parties.
The MoU was signed around 8:45am local time at Beijing’s state guesthouse Diaoyutai, reports UNB.
Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Adviser and BNP Joint Secretary General (international affairs) Humaiun Kobir signed for BNP, while Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, signed for the Chinese side.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon, Water Resources Minister Shahiduddin Chowdhury Anee, State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Rashiduzzaman Millat and Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen attended.
