The Bangladesh Jute Research Institute (BJRI) has made seven new technologies in agriculture, technical applications and jute-textiles available for farmers, industrial entrepreneurs and other stakeholders through a workshop at its headquarters in Dhaka on Thursday.
The workshop, titled “BJRI Innovated Technology Transfer 2026”, was held at the BJRI conference room at Manik Mia Avenue, said a press release.
Agriculture Secretary Md Selim Khan attended the programme as chief guest. Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council Executive Chairman Md Abdus Salam and Department of Agricultural Extension Director General Md Abdur Rahim were special guests.
BJRI Director General Nargis Akter chaired the workshop. Director (Technology) Moslem Uddin delivered the welcome address, and Chief Scientific Officer of Jute Farming Systems Division AKM Shahadat Hossain presented a paper.
The seven technologies were transferred to farmers, industrial entrepreneurs and stakeholders at the field level to promote jute cultivation, processing and textile applications.
