A new television serial, ‘Biswas Bonam Sardar’, will premiere on Maasranga Television on the first day of the new year. The drama will air from Sunday to Thursday at 8:30 pm.

Written by Brindavan Das and directed by Shakal Ahmed, the serial features an ensemble cast including Chanchal Chowdhury, Mousumi Hamid, Pran Roy, Joyraj, Farzana Chobi, Shahnaz Khushi, Divya Jyoti, Soumya Jyoti, Labanya Liza, Tabassum Mithila, Javed Gazi, Masum Bashar and Shirin Alam, among others.

Set in a developing village in North Bengal, the story revolves around two influential neighbouring families, the Biswases and the Sardars. Despite living side by side, the families are locked in a long-standing and bitter rivalry. Any misfortune for one becomes a source of satisfaction for the other, with members of both households constantly seeking opportunities to exploit each other’s weaknesses.

Their hostility has grown so deep that it often leads to absurd, embarrassing and sometimes painful situations, many of which become a source of amusement for the villagers. Others, meanwhile, take advantage of the feud, fuelling the conflict for personal gain. Through this rivalry, the serial presents a mix of humour and drama, reflecting the contradictions of rural life.

Director Shakal Ahmed said the drama would portray familiar faces and realities of village society, using the conflict between the two families to highlight social inconsistencies while ultimately delivering a humane and meaningful message.
