Four Biman Bangladesh Airlines cabin crew have been served show-cause notices for entering the Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister’s office without prior permission, violating official conduct rules.
The airline administration issued the notices on Tuesday, asking them to respond within one working day, officials said.
The crew members involved are flight pursers Firoz Mia Abir and Wasik, and flight attendants Afrin and Ria.
The incident occurred on 30 March when the Minister and senior officials visited Biman’s head office, ‘Balaka’, for an inspection.
The four crew members entered the Minister’s office without prior approval, creating an awkward situation for the Minister and other officials present.
According to protocol, such meetings require advance permission. Ignoring this guideline, the crew’s actions were deemed a breach of discipline and office conduct.
“The central administration has considered the entry unauthorised and contrary to institutional rules,” a Biman official said, confirming the show-cause notices had been issued.
The airline expects the crew to provide explanations promptly, following which further action will be carried out.
