The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) confirmed on Wednesday the appointment of Australian fitness expert, Dr Cameron Lord, as the Head of Strength and Conditioning for the national women’s team.
Dr Lord is the second foreign member to join Head Coach Peter Butler’s backroom staff. The English coach had previously stressed the necessity of improving the team’s physical standards following their successful run in the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers.
The Australian oversaw his initial training session on Wednesday at the Police Tero FC training ground in Sukhothai, Bangkok. The women in red and green are currently preparing for two upcoming international friendlies against the hosts, Thailand, who are ranked 51 places above them, on 24 and 27 October.
A BFF statement indicated that Dr Lord’s hiring is part of a wider initiative to reinforce the team’s overall performance and fitness structure. His main duties will involve creating a detailed athletic programme aimed at raising both individual and collective player strength and fitness levels.
Dr Lord possesses significant experience from his previous roles, including serving as Head of Strength and Conditioning for A-League club Perth Glory and a spell with Egypt’s ZED FC.
