Bangladesh Bank has instructed all scheduled banks to display banners at branch and sub-branch levels to raise public awareness ahead of the referendum on proposed constitutional reforms.
In a circular issued by its Banking Regulation and Policy Department on Monday, the central bank directed banks to print and display two vertical banners at visible locations in all branches.
“With a view to creating public awareness regarding the referendum on the constitutional reform proposals recorded in the July National Charter 2025, you are advised to take necessary steps to print two vertical banners and display them at visible locations in all branches and sub-branches of your bank,” the circular said.
The instruction was issued in reference to a letter dated January 5 from the Office of the Chief Adviser, according to the circular.
Bangladesh Bank sent the directive to the managing directors and chief executives of all scheduled banks and attached the designs of the two banners for printing and display.
The same banners have already been displayed at Bangladesh Bank’s head office and other premises, the central bank said.
