Tasin Mohammad from Bangladesh has won a gold medal at the International Olympiad on Climate Change and Environmental Issues (IOCE), held in Sochi, Russia.
The olympiad took place between September 13 and 20, read a press release.
Five young participants from Bangladesh took part in this prestigious competition, which brought together high school students from around the world to solve real-world problems related to climate change and the environment.
The Bangladesh team was led by Farhan Masud Tasin, a representative from BRAC University. The team also included Mahdi Bin Ferdous from Vashantek Government College in Dhaka, Tasin Mohammad from BIAM Model School and College, Mohammad Noor Ahmed from Rajshahi Collegiate School, and Ashikur Rahman from Harimohan Government High School in Chapainawabganj.
During the event, participants from Bangladesh engaged in stimulating discussions with peers from various countries on research topics related to climate change and environmental challenges.
At the project festival, students confidently presented their innovative projects on the international stage. They also showcased their dedication and expertise through collaborative team presentations on addressing environmental challenges.
The International Olympiad on Climate Change and Environmental Issues is organised by the Sirius Federal Territory and the Talent and Success Educational Foundation, with support from the Russian Ministry of Education.
