The Bangladesh women’s national football team continued their preparations in Sydney ahead of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026, completing their fifth training session since arriving in Australia.

After playing a closed-door match against Western Sydney Wanderers FC on 26 February 2026, the squad observed a recovery day, taking part in a light swimming session at Valentine Sports Park to aid physical regeneration. The medical team has confirmed there are no serious injury concerns, with all players fit and available.

Friday’s session marked Bangladesh’s first training at the official venue allocated by the AFC. The team departed Valentine Sports Park (VSP) at 7:30 am and began training at Jubilee Stadium at 9:00 am.

Despite steady rain and cool weather in Sydney since 26 February, head coach Peter James Butler oversaw a high-intensity 90-minute session. Training began with warm-up routines before moving into technical drills and possession-based exercises. The session concluded with a competitive 20-minute 11v11 match among the players, maintaining match sharpness ahead of the tournament opener.

Following training, the squad checked into the AFC-designated team hotel in Parramatta, Sydney. No gym session was scheduled for the afternoon, allowing the players additional recovery time. Bangladesh will resume training at Jubilee Stadium from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on 28 February as preparations continue.

Bangladesh will open their campaign against China PR on 3 March 2026, with kick-off set for 2:00 pm Bangladesh time. The team will then face South Korea and Uzbekistan in their remaining group-stage fixtures.
