Legendary Bangladeshi actress Babita will be honoured with a special television programme, ‘Babita Samagra’, marking her birthday.
The programme will air on 30 July on Machranga Television, coinciding with the channel’s 15th anniversary.
The special production traces Babita’s journey from her childhood to her remarkable film career, highlighting her personal life, untold stories and immense contribution to Bangladeshi cinema.
The programme has been written, planned and hosted by Rumman Rashid Khan.
Several prominent figures from the country’s entertainment industry have joined the celebration, including Runa Laila, Sabina Yasmin, Alamgir, Sohel Rana, Anwara, Jaya Ahsan, Suchanda, Champa, Afzal Hossain and Shakib Khan.
They share memories of Babita and offer birthday wishes.
Speaking about the programme, Babita said it is a special gift for those who have supported her throughout her career.
She believes viewers will gain a fresh perspective on her life and achievements through the production.
Rumman Rashid Khan described Babita Samagra as more than a conventional interview programme, saying it presents a documentary-style tribute to the actress’s life, career and enduring legacy in Bangladeshi cinema.
Produced by Ajay Poddar, the special programme will be broadcast at 10:30pm on 30 July on Machranga Television.
