Popular Bangladeshi actor Ziaul Faruq Apurba is set to appear in a different role as he takes the stage for his first-ever solo musical evening outside his acting career.
The event will take place on 8 August at Jamaica Performing Arts Center on Jamaica Avenue in New York. According to the organisers, Apurba will perform for almost two hours, from 8pm to 10pm local time. He will sing popular songs by Bangladeshi artistes and has also prepared some special surprises for the audience, though he has chosen not to reveal them in advance.
Apurba has captivated audiences through acting for years, but many may not know that he has a passion for singing. He regularly sang as a child and earned praise for his voice. After choosing acting as his profession, he could not devote regular time to music but continued to sing occasionally. He has also lent his voice to the opening songs of several television dramas.
Apurba currently spends a fixed period of each year in the United States with his wife and daughter. He planned the musical evening as a way to use that time more creatively.
Popular Bangla singers Kumar Bishwajit and Fahmida Nabi have wished Apurba success on his first solo musical venture. In video messages, they encouraged him and expressed their support for his new journey.
Sharing his feelings, Apurba said, “I am overwhelmed by the extraordinary response I have received even before my first solo musical evening. However, I am also a little nervous. I keep wondering whether everything will go smoothly. I hope I can fill the hearts of those attending with songs, because I truly love singing.
