Veteran actor Anupam Kher has joined the viral “Mere Mehboob Qayamat Hogi” social media trend alongside his Khosla Ka Ghosla co-stars, giving fans a nostalgic glimpse of the beloved characters ahead of the sequel’s release, reports Hindustan Times.
Kher shared a video featuring Boman Irani, Ranvir Shorey and Parvin Dabas, with the cast putting their own humorous spin on the viral “Teri Galiyon Mein” reel trend.
In the video, Anupam reprises his iconic look as Kamal Kishore Khosla, while Boman Irani returns as the memorable Khurana. The actors recreate the trend together, delighting fans of the 2006 cult comedy.
Sharing the clip, Kher joked about the duo’s on-screen rivalry.
“Khoslas and Khurana were never in sync. NOT EVEN HERE! Jai Ho!”
The video also serves as a promotional teaser for Khosla Ka Ghosla 2, which is scheduled to release in theatres on 28 August.
The “Mere Mehboob – Teri Galiyon Mein” trend gained massive popularity after influencer Abhinav Bisht posted a dance reel with friends during the CJP-led NEET protest in Delhi.
The video quickly went viral, earning millions of views and significantly boosting Bisht’s social media following.
His Instagram account was briefly suspended before being restored.
Since then, the trend has been recreated by numerous celebrities and content creators.
During the recent CJP-led protests, Anupam Kher voiced support for students demanding accountability but urged them to remain cautious about political involvement.
Addressing the protesters, he advised them not to allow political parties or outside groups to take control of their movement.
“You may feel that more people joining your protest makes it stronger, but that isn’t always true. Sometimes, others begin using your voices to serve their own political agendas. Eventually, the cameras and slogans leave with them, while your original cause suffers,” he had said.
His remarks were widely discussed on social media, where many praised his call for students to protect the independence of their movement.
