Model and web series actress Antara Banerjee, 31, was arrested after an alleged altercation with Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel aboard the Aravali Express on 12 August.

According to News 18, Banerjee was reportedly travelling to Surat for a shoot and had entered a reserved AC coach despite holding a sleeper-class ticket.

The incident began when a passenger asked Banerjee to vacate a reserved seat. After she allegedly refused, the passenger informed ticket collector Harikesh Tripathi, who alerted the RPF.
The incident took place between Borivali and Dahanu between around 9.30pm and 10.50pm.

RPF assistant sub-inspector Yaminikant Mishra and constable Rajesh Kumar reportedly intervened.

The RPF personnel reportedly secured the AC coach doors as the situation escalated. Police alleged that Banerjee then attempted to escape by breaking the glass.

She was eventually deboarded at Dahanu station and handed over to the Government Railway Police (GRP).

Mishra also alleged that she damaged his uniform and mobile phone. The incident reportedly continued for more than an hour, leaving passengers shaken.

Banerjee was taken into custody by Borivali railway police the following morning.

GRP inspector Kunda Gavade said eyewitnesses suggested Banerjee may have been distressed after being unable to obtain an AC ticket.

Gavade said Banerjee refused to contact relatives or seek legal counsel and instead demanded to be arrested. She reportedly calmed down after the FIR was registered.

An FIR was filed on 13 August under offences including endangering safety, causing grievous harm to public servants, assault and intentional insult. Banerjee was served a notice and released on bail.
