Disney’s upcoming animated sequel, ‘Frozen 3’, appears set to celebrate the long-awaited wedding of Anna (voiced by Kristen Bell) and Kristoff (Jonathan Groff).
Their engagement, teased at the end of ‘Frozen 2’, has long fuelled speculation about the plot of the next film, which is scheduled for release on November 24, 2027.
Hints about the wedding emerged in the new Disney+ documentary, ‘Disney+ Insider: World of Frozen’, which offers a behind-the-scenes look at Disneyland Paris’ Frozen-themed attractions. During the feature, co-director Jennifer Lee interacts with an actress portraying Anna, who excitedly confirms, “Oh, yes! I’m so excited,” when asked about “big wedding plans.”
Olaf (voiced by Josh Gad) is noted to have helped plan a major surprise during Arendelle’s Snowflower Festival, suggesting the festival may play a role in the story.
The documentary also showcases Arendelle Bay, the castle, and the town, as well as an Olaf robot. Elsa, voiced by Idina Menzel, will return for the sequel alongside Bell and Groff. While earlier reports suggested record-breaking salaries for the cast, Bell has denied these figures.
Frozen and Frozen 2 grossed $1.3 billion and $1.45 billion worldwide respectively. Frozen 3 is expected to continue the franchise’s commercial success upon release.
