Preparations are underway for the launch of the Farmer Card distribution programme, which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman in Tangail on 14 April.

The event will be held at Shaheed Maruf Stadium, where the Prime Minister will personally hand over Farmer Cards to 15 selected farmers.

State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salahuddin Tuku described the launch as a matter of pride and joy for the people of Tangail.

Speaking to journalists after inspecting the venue on Friday afternoon, Tuku said the Farmer Card initiative is a groundbreaking step toward the development and empowerment of farmers across the country.

During the visit, Tuku reviewed the preparations and issued necessary instructions to officials to ensure the smooth execution of the programme. Agriculture Secretary Rafiqul E Mohammad and other senior officials were present during the inspection.

Earlier in the day, a preparatory meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Sharifa Haque was held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s office.

At the meeting, State Minister Tuku urged all responsible officials to perform their duties with utmost responsibility to ensure the success of the inauguration.

The programme aims to provide farmers with access to essential support and services, reinforcing the government’s commitment to agricultural development and rural welfare.
