Police have detained a leader of activity-banned Awami League in connection with a subversion case in Jibannagar, Chuadanga.
The detainee has been identified as Md Bakul Uddin Milton, son of Altaf Hossain of Habibpur village. He is the general secretary of Ward No. 7 Awami League under Seemanta Union.
According to police sources, a special team conducted a raid on his residence around 11pm on Friday based on secret information and arrested him.
Milton faces a case registered at Jibannagar Police Station on charges of creating subversion.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Solaiman Sheikh confirmed the matter.
