Akshay Kumar is reportedly set to reunite with filmmaker Neeraj Pandey after more than a decade, joining the director’s upcoming biopic on legendary music composer R.D. Burman in a special appearance, reports Pink Villa.
The project, headlined by Farhan Akhtar, is expected to begin filming in September.
According to a report by Pinkvilla, Akshay has agreed to play a pivotal cameo in the film, although details about his character are being kept under wraps.
Sources close to the production claim the actor immediately accepted the offer after hearing Pandey’s narration, with insiders describing the role as brief but significant to the film’s narrative.
“Akshay and Neeraj share immense mutual respect, and it didn’t take much convincing for the actor to say yes. The moment Neeraj narrated the role, Akshay agreed to be a part of the film. It’s a special appearance, but one that carries a lot of weight in the story,” a source was quoted as saying.
The film marks a long-awaited reunion between Kumar and Pandey, whose previous collaborations include the critically acclaimed Special 26 (2013) and the action thriller Baby (2015).
