Dhaka Metro secured their second victory of the season with a 23-run win over Sylhet, powered by the batting of Shadman Islam and Aich Mollah, and supported by incisive bowling from Abu Hider Rony and Shahidul Islam. The result lifted Metro to third in the points table.

Metro, after winning the toss and batting first, laid a decent foundation with a 45-run opening stand. Mahfizul Islam Robin (18 off 23) fell attempting a big shot against Nabil Samad, and an over later captain Naim Sheikh (36 off 32) was dismissed at deep point by Asadullah Al Galib.

At 60 for 2, Shadman and Aich transformed the innings with a commanding 101-run partnership. Aich remained unbeaten on 53 from 33 deliveries, striking two boundaries and clearing the ropes six times. Shadman narrowly missed out on a fifty, departing for 49 off 32 with four fours and two sixes, caught at long-off by Ebadot Hossain in the penultimate over. Metro closed on 161 for 3.

Sylhet’s reply faltered under pressure. Shahidul Islam removed both openers with the score on 56, while Aich and Maruf Mridha chipped in with crucial strikes to reduce the chase to tatters before the 100-run mark. Despite some resistance from Khalid Hasan (24 off 23) and Amit Hasan (24 off 16), Sylhet slipped further as wickets tumbled.

Asadullah Al Galib (23 off 14) and Rejaur Rahman Raja (17 off 11) added late runs, but Metro’s bowlers maintained control to restrict Sylhet to 138 for 9. Shahidul finished with figures of 3 for 24, while Abu Hider and Maruf shared four wickets between them.
