The short film ‘A Thing About Kashem’, produced by Arifur Rahman under Goopy Bagha Productions and co-produced by Shakib Iftekhar, Nusrat Amin Supti and Imran Ahmed, received accolades at the LA Diversity Film Festival. Actor Intekhab Dinar won the Best Actor award, while director Bijon Imtiaz received Best Director honors.
Written by Nuhash Humayun, the film will also be screened at the Lemli Glendale section of the Rhode Island International Film Festival in the US, running daily at 4:00 pm. Tickets are available for viewers wishing to watch.
Director Bijon praised Intekhab Dinar’s performance, saying, “Some actors go deep into a character over time. Dinar Bhai can enter the character instantly, like flipping a switch. I’m thrilled he’s getting recognition both at home and abroad. He truly deserves it.”
The film explores the hidden truths we lock away in ourselves and the consequences when the Pandora’s box unexpectedly opens.
Alongside Dinar, the cast includes Hasnat Ripon, Moutushi Biswas and Tanushree, with cinematography by Ejaz Mehedi, costume design by Idila Farid Turin and sound design by Anis John from India.
